Auralis is built by one person who takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what we collect and why.
Auralis asks for as little as possible:
• Display name (optional — any nickname you like. It's shown in the app and you can change it anytime) • Email address (optional — only if you create an account) • Your music library metadata and settings (only if you turn on cross-device sync, Premium) • Anonymous, aggregate usage counts (installs and feature use) viewed through our own internal dashboard — never tied to your identity • Device identifiers needed to keep you signed in
We never sell your data, never share it with data brokers, and never build a personal profile of you. That's not a footnote — it's why Auralis exists.
Premium payments are processed by Google Play (and later the App Store); Auralis stores only the purchase token and the expiry date, to unlock Premium.
Your data is used only to:
• Run the app and the features you choose to use • Sync your library and settings across your devices (Premium) • Send essential service messages (account changes, security alerts) • See anonymous, aggregate usage counts so we know which features matter • If you opt in with an email, occasionally tell you about new features — optional, off by default, never advertising
Crash reports: when something goes wrong in the app, it sends us a technical error report: what failed and where in the code, the app version, the phone model and the Android version. It contains no personal data. No name, email, account ID or device ID is included, and paths to your music files are removed before sending. Reports are stored on our own server in the EU (Germany) and deleted after 30 days.
Anonymous usage counts: the app counts which screens and features are used (for example, how often a ringtone is exported), so we know what to improve. No account ID or device ID is sent. The counts go to our own analytics server in the EU (Germany) and are only ever viewed added up. To count visits without knowing who you are, that server turns your connection's IP address into a code that changes every month; the address itself is not stored, only the approximate location (country, region, city).
Both are on by default, and you can switch either one off anytime in Settings → Privacy.
Your music stays on your phone. Playing, organising and browsing your library happens entirely on your device. If you add your birthday in Account Info (optional, day and month only — never the year), it is saved only on this phone, never sent to us, and used for one thing: a happy-birthday greeting on Home.
Some audio tools need more processing power than a phone has — Format Converter, Audio Editor export, Equalizer export, Audio Enhancer, Vocal Remover, Ringtone Creator, song recognition in Bulk Rename, and syncing lyrics to a song. When you use one of them, the file you picked is sent over an encrypted connection to the Auralis processing server, processed, and sent back to you. We do not keep it: the file and its result are deleted as soon as you download the result, and anything left behind is deleted automatically within about 10 minutes (30 minutes for Vocal Remover, so you have time to listen to each part before saving it). Nobody looks at it, and it is never used for anything else.
Sync & Backup (Premium): a backup holds your playlists, favourites, listening stats and settings, never your audio files. It is stored on our server in the EU (Germany), only you can open it, only your last 3 backups are kept, and they are deleted together with your account.
If you opt in, your nickname, country and listening minutes are shown publicly on the leaderboard. Turning it off removes them.
Some features fetch information from other services. They only receive what that feature needs:
• Lyrics — LRCLIB (lrclib.net) receives the title and artist of the song that is playing, so its lyrics are ready when you open them • Song recognition (Bulk Rename) — our server sends AcoustID (acoustid.org) an audio fingerprint, a short code worked out from the sound (never the file itself), and gets the song's details back from the MusicBrainz database • Radio — Radio Browser (radio-browser.info) and the stations you choose to play • Cloud Songs — the Internet Archive (archive.org) and Audius (audius.co) • Audiobooks — LibriVox (librivox.org) and the Internet Archive • Podcasts — Apple's public podcast directory and each show's own feed • Music News — the public news feeds shown in the app • YouTube — videos play through YouTube's official embedded player, which is covered by Google's own privacy policy • Last.fm — only if you connect your account yourself, to record what you listen to
Free users may see a small banner in Radio. It is served by AppLovin MAX, an advertising partner, which may collect device information such as your advertising ID and approximate location to show and measure ads, under AppLovin's own privacy policy. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first, and you can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time in your phone's settings.
Premium removes all ads. Auralis never plays audio ads and never shows pop-up ads.
Auralis asks for a permission only when a feature you're using needs it:
• Music, Audio & Video — to find and play the files already on your device (Library, Video Player) • Photos — only for artwork, covers or backgrounds you choose yourself • Microphone — only for Voice Recorder, and only while you are recording • Notifications — so playback controls appear on your lock screen and in the notification shade • Nearby devices (Bluetooth) — only on Connected Devices, to show which headphones or speakers are connected • Storage — on older Android versions, to read and save your music files
You can revoke any of these anytime in Settings > Apps > Auralis > Permissions. The rest of the app keeps working.
Account and sync data is stored on servers in Germany (Hetzner), under EU data protection law. Everything is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We follow standard security practice and keep only what is described here.
You have the right to:
• Access your personal data • Get a copy of it (data portability) • Correct anything inaccurate • Delete your account and all associated data — directly from Profile > Delete Account • Withdraw consent at any time • Complain to your local data protection authority (in the Czech Republic: ÚOOÚ, uoou.gov.cz)
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@auralismusic.app.
Auralis accounts are for people aged 15 and over (the age of digital consent in the Czech Republic), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 15 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, everything associated with it is permanently deleted within 30 days. Files sent to the processing server are deleted within minutes, as described above.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
